Sandip Pisalkar is a sculptor and multi-media artist living  and working in Baroda. He finished his GD from Sir. J.J.School of Art, Mumbai,  and PGD in Creative Sculpture from M.S.University of Baroda. He has  participated in several group shows in Baroda and Mumbai, and was a part of the  Peers 2008 residency at Khoj.  He received  the International Danfoss Art Award in Gold & Bronze, Denmark in 2008.  

In Pisalkar’s work culture-specific objects, which in  today’s times are labelled as history, are re-presented within a different  context, “re-mixed” and integrated into our contemporary lives. He says, “I  look at objects of historical importance with an eye of interrogation.
